Get to Know Dr. Leah Byars
Dr. Leah Byars has been part of the dental world for close to a decade, and her passion for helping others with their smiles only continues to grow. Originally from Northern Virginia, she’s known for her calm, reassuring manner, allowing patients to feel comfortable and confident about their treatment. She is dedicated to helping every patient receive the highest level of care while making their experience at the office as stress-free as possible. Read on to learn a little more about her education and background before arriving at your appointment.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Byars is a true Northern Virginia native. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Virginia and later received her Master’s degree in Microbiology and Infectious Disease from George Mason University. After that, she went on to study at New York University College of Dentistry to obtain her dental doctorate.
The best part about dentistry for her is that she enjoys the ability to combine medicine, artistry, and hands-on technical skills. She believes in the importance of evidence-based dental treatments and participates in continuing education to stay at the forefront of dental advancements. Over the years, she has taken advanced courses in Bioclear restorations and is even Invisalign certified.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever Dr. Byars isn’t at the practice helping patients with their smiles, she is likely spending quality time with her friends and family. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and cuisines, and she is an avid fan of UVa sports (go Hoos!).
